Why are you passionate about what you do?  Having grown up in the shadow of the refineries along Highway 225 I watched my family members, friends, classmates, and eventually coworkers risk their lives everyday walking through the gates.

Losing a childhood friend and college roommate in 1990 in an explosion in Channelview opened my eyes to the potential tragedy and risk they all face every day.  Many years later March 23, 2005, the accident at BP Texas City happened.  An employee at Jacobs at the time we lost 11 people that day.
